Britains Cococubs were launched in 1934 to promote the sale of Cadburys cocoa, rebranded as The Children's Cocoa, advertised as 'A Toy in Every Tin'. 15 figures were released with further models released over the next two years.
This Britains Cococub figure of boy with a candy bar is the original first Jonathan and was only issued in the period from Autumn until December 1934 when it was withdrawn (possibly because he was a little stout from eating one too many candy bars!) He wears a blue suit with white shirt and socks and has a red tie. He is holding the candy or chocolate bar to his mouth with his right hand. Clearly marked "CO RT CADBURY BRITAINS" underneath
in very good original condition with some areas of paint loss that does not detract from this rare figure
introductory offer until 29 February
