Sir Hugo Cunliffe-Owen had many business interests and was the Chairman of the British-American Tobacco Company. Sir Hugo spent considerable money on his racing empire and liked to have a good bet, but he did not want any short prices, so he must have been very pleased when his horse Felstead won the Epsom Derby in 1928 at 33/1. His other success was with the filly Rockfel that won the Oaks and 1000 Guineas.

Jockey wears his 1936 colours of forest green long sleeve top with cream hoops on the sleeves with half green, half cream cap. Whip complete. Riding a brown / bay horse with one white sock. Contained in original pre-war box with printed lid

Horse and jockey in very good original condition with only a couple of minor areas of paint loss to horse. Whip complete. Box intact and in good plus original condition with some staining and old graffiti
