Charles Stewart Henry Vane-Tempest-Stewart, the seventh Marquis of Londonderry was born in 1878 and destined for the army, where he had a successful career before becoming a Member of Parliament before moving to the House of Lords. He was an all round sportsman, a prominent figure in the hunting field, and a well-known owner of racehorses, with stables at Wynyard in County Durham and Newmarket. Among his horses were Corcyra and Benevente.
Jockey wears his colours of lilac silks with yellow sleeves and black cap. He is riding a brown / bay horse. Contained in original pre-war box with printed lid. This model was issued 1926.
