Britains Racing Colours Famous Owners: The Queen Mother. The Queen Mother became a steeplechase enthusiast after her introduction to the sport by Lord Mildmay of Flete in June 1949 after staying at Windsor Castle for Royal Ascot. He also introduced Her Royal Highness to Peter Cazalet, who trained horses with great success at Fairlawne, a grand country house near Sevenoaks, and secured 250 winners for Her Majesty from 1949 until his death in 1973. In the 1960s Fairlawne and its royal patron lived through a golden era, reaching a high point in the 1964-65 season when her 27 victories made her the third most successful owner of the year. David Mould was her most successful jockey, riding 106 winners for her.

Jockey wears her colours of sea green long sleeve top with vertical gold stripes on vest and black cap with gold flash and rides a grey horse. This model was first included in the Britains catalogue of 1953.

Postage and packing

Postage and packing is not included in the prices quoted and Lilliput World will always pack securely and send by the buyer’s choice of delivery service at your cost.

For those of you who prefer to click straight through and pay, we have given a set of postage options based on value and destination area. By definition, these have to be a best guess as the permutations of sizes, weights and values for sale on this site are huge.

So, if you prefer to decide what you want to buy and then contact us with details of your preferred shipment method and destination, we will be happy to give you a specific quote and then issue your Paypal invoice. The cost quoted will be the actual cost of postage, including any insurance, plus a small amount to cover the packing materials used.

If the buyer asks for the goods to be sent without insurance, then Lilliput World will only be responsible for the value that can be reclaimed as standard from the chosen carrier.

If you do complete the sale automatically and the system charges you excessive postage, this will be refunded to you via Paypal once the correct postage is known. Likewise, we cannot be held to deliver goods to international destinations where the automatic postage supplied is significantly less than the actail cost. We will then contact you and discuss the options and take additional payment as required.

We do our best to ensure that our descriptions are accurate to the best of our knowledge. Under UK Law, any buyer has full rights of return, including return postage, if Lilliput World is shown to have misrepresented an item.

But we cannot accept items for return where buyers have changed their mind. So please ask any questions before purchase to make sure that you know exactly what you are buying.

We are very happy to answer any questions you may have about our shop or stock and to be approached to buy single items or collections but they need to be in very good condition, preferably boxed, and lead civilians only. Unfortunately we cannot respond to questions about the identification, value or history of items you may have in your possession as it would be unprofessional to do so without seeing them personally.
