Bruxelles flat soldiers, boxed

1 item left

great evocative set of twelve flat Bruxelles figures in total consisting member of nobility on white horse, two mounted soldiers with helmets, waist sashes and swords extended behind, a mounted standard bearer, a very rare soldier with paper label in complete condition to front rein, a mounted bugler plus six regular mounted soldiers with extended swords / lances. All in a box marked Gustave Sto..., Bruxelles with the words "fabrique de bijoux noirs parures completes pour deuil" (literally:jewelry factory black trim complete for mourning) "au brilliant noir" (literally: the brilliant black) suggesting these flats came from a Brussels jeweller. The box has the original straw and square of paper at the bottom.

all figures in excellent condition with some extended swords a little crooked but easily straightened as the lead is quite soft. The box is complete with splits to lid corners and small area of label missing over jeweller's surname where presumably price label removed
