This wonderful German hand painted tin swing cradle from the late 19th century (1880 - 1890) is made by one of the top companies from that period, probably Marklin. The pale blue background is covered in darker blue hand painted charming illustrations of young boys playing in the river and on the river bank. There is a piece inside the white interior of the cradle to hold a doll. The cradle measures 7.5 inches long, 4.25 inches high to highest point of back and is 3.5 inches deep from front to back.
in very good original condition with all the paintings perfectly clear. There are just a couple of minor paint chips and there is minor wear around the edge as you would expect with an item of this age
